We upgraded our circulation desk to say "Welcome" in all 34 languages that are spoken by students at our school. Our priority is to create a welcoming and affirming environment for every student who walks through our doors.

One full-time librarian position was added to replace a part-time position.

Classes in the LMC

In the 2024-2025 school year, we hosted 752 classes in the library. In 2025-2026, we hosted 850 classes.
Push-In / Collaboration

In the 2024-2025 school year, the librarians pushed in/collaborated outside of the library a total of 27 times. In the 2025-2026 school year, this number grew to over 85. Having a second librarian opened a lot of space for collaboration!
Circulation

In the 2024-2025 school year, we circulated 4,640 items. In the 2025-2026 school year, we circulated over 5,480, an increase of 18%!!
**As of May 2026, we are no longer circulating charging cords or chromebooks, which will affect circulation statistics moving forward.

This year, we introduced the new search engine (Sooth.fyi), which was a bestseller with over 18,498 searches performed and 22,348 sources viewed. Students also had access to four new culturally-specific Newsbank databases.
Teacher Collaborators

We were able to expand our collaborations focusing specifically on special services areas, working with ENL teachers to acquire appropriate texts in other languages (for class and for choice reading) and welcoming our 12:1:1 and 15:1 classes into the library for hands-on, personalized lessons that supported their class work and social-emotional goals.
Traffic Patterns
The library is available for many uses including classes, meetings, testing accomodations, open space for study hall students, display space for art exhibits, and class projects.

Classes come to the library for research instruction, collaborative projects, choice book presentations and selection, maker space use, and printing.

Study or Research
Students arrive in the library for a variety of reasons including printing, studying, photography, filming, listen to music, or to play board games with friends.
Librarians were able to collaborate with over 55 different teachers to create and facilitate personalized learning opportunities for students.

Collaboration by Department
The English and Social Studies departments took the lead on collaborating with librarians this year, but we were fortunate to work with almost every department.

The library maintains a collection of print books, magazines, ebooks, audiobooks, text & multimedia databases, and equipment. The collection is constantly updated: with new copies added every month, and outdated, worn-out, and unused titles periodically removed. The Fayetteville-Manlius community has a strong record of supporting intellectual freedom. No library materials were formally challenged this year.

We added The Atlantic this year, as many teachers utilize it as a resource for class instruction.

Students and faculty utilize databases for research related to class assignments. We had 1,151 users visit our main research page this year.
Listening Lab

The LMC added a listening lab this year - a space for students to engage with music in a variety of formats. There are music-related books and magazines, hundreds of cds (donated by faculty and staff) and 64 new and used vinyl records. We acquired a used record player, a bluetooth speaker, ten sets of new headphones, and five portable cd players. It is a space that is now occupied almost every period of the day.
